Todo enigma clássico é uma pequena história de detetive. E histórias de detetive têm um vocabulário próprio, que se repete de caso em caso. Aprender essas trinta palavras uma vez rende em todo o baralho, e depois em qualquer romance policial em inglês.
A cena
- clue (pista): Is the broken glass a clue?
- evidence (prova): Is there any evidence of a fight?
- trace (vestígio): Did he leave any trace?
- footprint (pegada): Were there footprints around the body?
- scene (cena, local): Was anyone else at the scene?
- locked (trancado): Was the room locked from inside?
As pessoas
- suspect (suspeito): Is the cook a suspect?
- witness (testemunha): Was there a witness?
